Nicada Digital has built and looked after more than 800 websites since 2014, almost all of them on WordPress. Hosting is the part clients never see and always feel.
There are now dozens of tools that promise to build software from a description. Most fall into two groups: app builders that do everything in the browser, aimed at people who do not code, and AI coding assistants that work alongside a developer.
We build our own client sites with the help of AI coding tools, so we have a practical view of what matters: what the tool can build, what it costs once you are using it seriously, and whether you can take your work with you. New to the idea? Start with what vibe coding is.

For Complete Beginners
1. Lovable: the most polished
Lovable is the tool that made vibe coding mainstream. It builds full web apps with a back end, logins and hosting built in, and it looks good out of the box. Git sync is included on every plan, even Free, so a developer can take over later.
Price: free with 5 credits a day; Pro from $25 a month for 100 credits. Simple changes cost under a credit; bigger features cost more. See Lovable pricing explained.
2. Bolt.new: best free plan
Bolt works much like Lovable and has the most generous free plan: 300,000 tokens a day, up to 1 million a month. Pro is from $25 a month (about $18 a month paid yearly) with no daily limit. Hosting and databases are included through Bolt Cloud, and it syncs with GitHub. See Lovable vs Bolt.
For Small Business Owners
3. Coderick AI: everything in one place
Coderick AI is SiteGround's app builder. It builds the front end and back end from a description, with logins, a database and Stripe payments. Its difference is what comes with it on paid plans: hosting, your own domain, professional email, and SiteGround's support team, who you can phone 24/7.
Price: the cheapest paid entry here at $10 a month (£8 before VAT in the UK), with a 14-day free trial and no card needed. Trade-offs: no GitHub sync (you can download your code as a zip), and SiteGround does not say which AI model it uses. Read our Coderick AI review.

No card needed. Describe your app or site and see what it builds. Paid plans from £8 a month include hosting, your own domain, professional email and SiteGround support.

4. Base44: internal business tools
Base44, now owned by Wix, is aimed at tools you use inside your business: trackers, dashboards, client portals. Logins and a database come on every plan. Starter is $16 a month billed yearly, and GitHub sync starts on the $40 Builder plan.
For People Who Know a Bit
5. Replit: the most capable app builder
Replit is a full coding workspace with an AI agent. It handles more than the others: web apps, mobile apps with App Store submission, scheduled jobs and always-on servers. Core is $20 a month ($18 yearly), and Agent work beyond the free allowance is charged by effort. See Replit vs Lovable.
6. v0 by Vercel: for designers and React developers
v0 is strongest at modern front ends and deploys straight to Vercel. Free gives you 7 messages a day; Plus is $30 per user a month.
For Developers
7. Cursor: AI built into a code editor
Cursor is a code editor with AI agents built in. You work on your own files, so there is no lock-in. Pro is $20 a month, with higher tiers at $60 and $200.
8. Claude Code: AI in the terminal
Claude Code, from Anthropic, works in your terminal or editor and can carry out whole tasks across a codebase. It comes with a Claude Pro subscription at $20 a month, or the Max plans at $100 and $200. It is what we use for much of our own build work. It is not for beginners: you need to be comfortable with code, and you run the hosting yourself.

Before You Build Anything Important
- Check security. Veracode's 2025 research found that 45% of AI-generated code samples it tested failed security tests. Get anything that handles payments or personal data reviewed.
- Check you can leave. Make sure you can export or sync your code.
- Check the running cost. Credits run out; see what top-ups cost.
- Ask whether you need an app at all. A normal business website is still better built on WordPress. See the best hosting for small business sites.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best vibe coding tool?
It depends on your skill level. For non-coders building web apps, Lovable is the most polished. For small businesses that want hosting, email and support included, Coderick AI. For fast prototypes, Bolt.new. For complex apps including mobile, Replit. For developers, Cursor or Claude Code.
What is the best free vibe coding tool?
Bolt.new has the most generous free plan, with up to 1 million tokens a month. Lovable gives 5 credits a day, Replit's free plan lets you publish one app for 30 days, and Coderick AI has a 14-day free trial with no card needed.
Which vibe coding tools let me export my code?
Lovable, Bolt, Replit and v0 all sync with GitHub. Lovable includes Git sync on every plan, even Free. Coderick AI lets paid users download their code as a zip. Cursor and Claude Code work on your own files, so there is nothing to export.
Is vibe coding good for beginners?
Yes, with tools built for it. Lovable, Bolt, Base44 and Coderick AI are designed for people who do not code. Start with something small and specific, test everything, and get someone technical to review anything that handles payments or personal data.
What do vibe coding tools cost?
Paid plans start at about $10 to $25 a month, and most charge in credits or tokens. Busy months can cost more if you buy top-ups. Check what happens when you run out of credits before you choose.
