The short answer
WPX does not have a free trial. What it does have is a 30-day money-back guarantee, a free site move, and often a cheaper first month on monthly plans. Together, those let you try WPX properly for very little risk.
Plenty of people search for a WPX free trial (or "free trail") before they sign up. That makes sense. WPX is not budget hosting, so you want to know it is worth it before you commit. Here are the three real ways to try it.
1. The 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
This is the main one. Cancel within 30 days and you get your money back:
- Yearly plans are refunded in full. Pay for a year, decide in week three it is not for you, and you get all of it back.
- Monthly plans refund the first month's payment.
- You must cancel formally inside the 30 days. Do not just stop using it.
- Domain names are not refundable. If you buy a new domain through WPX, that part stays paid.
One thing to watch: WPX's terms say refund terms may change during special offers, such as Black Friday. If you buy in a sale, read that sale's terms first.
2. A Cheaper First Month on Monthly Plans
WPX often shows a first-month discount on its monthly plans, in a banner on its own site. It only covers the first month. After that you pay the normal monthly price.
If all you want is a few weeks to test WPX, this is the cheapest way in. And because the first month's payment is refundable within 30 days, you risk very little.
3. The Free Site Move
The best test of a host is your own site on it, not a demo. WPX moves your site across for you at no extra cost, usually within a day. Your site keeps running at your old host while WPX copies it, so there is no gap.
Keep your old hosting until the 30 days are up. That way, if WPX is not for you, you can switch your domain back.
Try WPX the low-risk way
Pick a plan, let WPX move your site for you, and test it on your own site. If it is not right, cancel inside 30 days for your money back.

Monthly or Yearly: Which Way to Try It?
| Monthly plan | Yearly plan | |
|---|---|---|
| Business plan price | $29.99 a month | $24.99 a month ($299.90 a year) |
| Paid up front | One month | The whole year |
| Refund in 30 days | First month's payment | All of it |
| Free months | None | Two |
| Best for | A short test | If you are fairly sure |
Prices are from WPX's order page, in US dollars, before tax, checked on 3 November 2026.
Our view: if you have read up and WPX looks right, go yearly. It is cheaper, and the full refund means it is no riskier. If you are unsure, start monthly and switch later.
What to Check During Your 30 Days
Thirty days goes quickly. Use it on the things that matter:
- Speed. Run your home page through a free speed test before and after the move. WPX was rated Top Tier in every WordPress price band it entered in the 2026 Review Signal tests, but your own site is the test that counts.
- Support. Ask live chat a real question, like how to set up your email. See how fast and how clear the answer is.
- Email. Business and above include email at your own domain. If you use it, set it up early.
- The dashboard. Try backups, staging and adding a site. You will use these often.
- Mark the date. Put day 25 in your calendar, so you decide before the 30 days are up.
Is WPX Worth Trying?
For a business site that needs to be fast and stay up, we think so. Malware removal, site moves and email are included, and support is live chat with real people around the clock. It is not the cheapest hosting, and it does not try to be.

If you can wait, WPX has run a Black Friday deal for each of the last three years, with extra free months on yearly plans. Our WPX Black Friday and Cyber Monday page tracks it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does WPX have a free trial?
No. WPX does not offer a free trial. Instead it has a 30-day money-back guarantee, and it often runs a cheaper first month on its monthly plans.
How does the WPX money-back guarantee work?
If you cancel within 30 days, a yearly plan is refunded in full. A monthly plan refunds the first month's payment. You must cancel formally inside the 30 days, and domain names are not refundable.
Is it better to try WPX monthly or yearly?
If you are fairly sure, yearly. You get two months free and a full refund inside 30 days, so it is no riskier. If you only want to test WPX for a few weeks, a monthly plan with a cheap first month costs the least up front.
Will WPX move my site for me while I try it?
Yes. WPX moves your site across for you at no extra cost, usually within a day. Keep your old hosting until the 30 days are up, so you can switch back if you need to.
Do I need a card to try WPX?
Yes. Because there is no free trial, you pay for the plan up front and claim the refund if it is not right for you.
Are WPX's prices higher after the first month or year?
WPX shows its regular prices, not a first-year teaser. Outside a first-month offer, a monthly plan costs the same each month, and longer plans renew at the regular price shown on the order page.
