Nicada Digital has built and looked after more than 800 websites since 2014, almost all of them on WordPress. Hosting is the part clients never see and always feel.
Most hosting companies have added an "AI" badge to something in the last two years. SiteGround has done more than that. Since the end of 2025 it has launched a whole set of AI tools, and several come free with its hosting.
We build our own client sites with the help of AI coding tools, so we have a good sense of what is useful and what is a gimmick. This guide explains each of SiteGround's tools in plain English. We have not tested SiteGround's tools ourselves; features and prices come from SiteGround's own pages and help articles, checked on 1 October 2026.

1. The AI Agent for WordPress
This is the one we think most business owners will actually use. Launched in February 2026, it is a chat window connected to your WordPress site. You tell it what you want, and it does the work:
- "Write a blog post about our new opening hours and save it as a draft."
- "Which plugins are out of date? Update them."
- "Put 10% off everything in the summer range."
- "Add Jo as an editor."
It can handle posts and pages, plugins, users, basic SEO and bulk WooCommerce product changes. For riskier actions there is a Power Mode switch, so it cannot make big changes until you allow it.
Cost: free on every SiteGround hosting plan. It also works on WordPress sites hosted elsewhere: you install SiteGround's plugin and connect it with a key.
Our take
The reason most small business websites go stale is that logging in to make changes feels like a job. Typing one sentence removes most of that. 2. AI Studio
Launched in December 2025, AI Studio puts several AI models in one place: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Imagen for images, among others. On top of that are more than 15 ready-made assistants for jobs like SEO, Google Ads, Instagram and Facebook posts, emails, images and managing your online reputation.
Cost: every paid SiteGround customer gets 20,000 AI tokens a month free. If you need more, 100,000 tokens a month costs £8 a month or £80 a year in the UK ($10 or $100 in the US).
Our take
The free allowance is a nice extra rather than a reason to choose SiteGround. If you already pay for ChatGPT or Claude, you may not need it. If you do not, the marketing assistants are a useful starting point for a small business with no marketing help.
3. Coderick AI
Coderick is SiteGround's answer to tools like Lovable and Bolt. You describe a website or web app in chat, and it builds both the front end and the back end, with user logins, a database and hosting included. Since July 2026 it can take payments through Stripe, and since August 2026 you can see and edit the code and download it as a zip file.

4. AI in the Website Builder
SiteGround also has a drag-and-drop website builder, separate from WordPress. It can write your page text and generate images for you, and since July 2026 has an AI Store Agent for online shops. What AI tools does SiteGround have?

Does the SiteGround AI Agent work on WordPress sites hosted elsewhere?
Yes. SiteGround says it works on any WordPress host. You install the AI Agent by SiteGround plugin and connect it with a key; the site needs SSL. People who are not SiteGround customers get a 14-day trial with 20,000 tokens.
Which AI models does SiteGround use?
AI Studio lets you choose ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Imagen, among others. SiteGround does not say which models power Coderick AI. It says your chats are not used to train the models.
Is SiteGround or WPX better for AI?
SiteGround, by a long way. WPX's only AI feature is AI-powered spam filtering on email. SiteGround includes an AI agent for WordPress and AI tokens on every plan, and sells Coderick AI for app building.
Is it safe to let an AI agent change my WordPress site?
With care. SiteGround's agent has a Power Mode switch for riskier actions, so you choose when it can make bigger changes. On GrowBig and above you can also test on a staging copy first, and take an on-demand backup before you start.
