The Best WordPress Hosting for Agencies

We are a web design agency, so this is a decision we have made ourselves. Here is what matters when you host client sites, and how WPX, SiteGround and Kinsta compare on cost per site.

Nicada Digital has built and looked after more than 800 websites since 2014, almost all of them on WordPress. Hosting is the part clients never see and always feel.

Hosting client sites is one of the best ways for a web agency or freelancer to build steady monthly income. It is also how you end up taking a phone call at 10pm because a client's site has gone down. The host you choose decides how often that happens, and how quickly you can fix it when it does.

What an Agency Needs From a Host

  1. A sensible cost per site, so hosting is profitable when you resell it.
  2. Client access that lets clients in without seeing your account or your other clients.
  3. Malware removal included. Across dozens of sites, someone will get hacked. Paying for each clean-up wipes out the margin.
  4. Support that fixes things fast, because your reputation is on the line, not the host's.
  5. A steady price, so your client pricing does not have to change after year one.

"Per site, full" assumes every slot is used. WPX's Agency plan drops to $399.99 a month on a five-year term, about $2 a site.

WPX: Best Value Per Site

WPX is hard to beat on the numbers above, and it is strong on the things that save an agency time:

  • Malware removal on every plan. Across a portfolio, this alone can save hundreds a year.
  • Free, unlimited site moves, done by WPX, usually within 24 hours. Useful when you take on a client whose site is elsewhere.
  • Collaborator access with roles: Technical Staff (files and databases), Full Privileges, or Accounting (invoices only). Access is off until you grant it.
  • One login, one invoice for all your client sites.
  • Top Tier in every WordPress band it entered in the independent 2026 Review Signal benchmarks.
  • Email with unlimited mailboxes, so you can host client email too.

What it lacks for agencies: no SSH, no white-label client dashboard, and no phone support. See our WPX review.

Host your client sites on WPX

Professional: 15 client sites for $49.99 a month paid yearly. Elite: 35 for $99.99. Malware removal, free site moves and email included, with one invoice for the lot.

SiteGround GoGeek: Best for White Label and Unlimited Sites

SiteGround's GoGeek plan is built with agencies in mind:

  • Unlimited sites and 100GB storage.
  • White-label client access, so clients see your brand when they manage their site.
  • Collaborators on every plan, each with their own client area and no view of your billing.
  • Staging with Git, SSH and priority support.
  • The SiteGround Agency Program, free to join, with commissions, a three-month free trial, and the ability to transfer billing to a client in one step when you hand a site over.
  • Free AI tools, including an AI agent that can update WordPress sites by chat.

The catch: GoGeek renews at £34.99 a month before VAT after year one, and malware clean-up is a paid extra. Note too that all mailboxes on a shared plan share 10GB, so heavy client email is better kept elsewhere. See our SiteGround review.

White-label client access with SiteGround

GoGeek: unlimited sites, white-label access, staging with Git and priority support. Join the free Agency Program to transfer billing to clients at handover.

Kinsta: For Premium Portfolios

Kinsta's multi-site plans run from Expand (5 sites, $99 a month or $83 paid yearly) to Lead (20 sites, $299 a month or $250 paid yearly). Each plan is also sized by monthly visits, with charges if you go over. Kinsta includes free migrations and malware removal, but no email. It is excellent hosting, but at around $12 to $17 a site it suits agencies with high-value clients rather than a portfolio of small businesses.

Which Should Your Agency Choose?

  • A portfolio of small business sites, and you want the best margin: WPX Professional or Elite.
  • You want clients to see your brand, or need unlimited sites: SiteGround GoGeek and the Agency Program.
  • High-value clients and a bigger budget: Kinsta.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best WordPress hosting for agencies?

For agencies hosting up to a few dozen client sites, WPX's Professional (15 sites) or Elite (35 sites) plans give the best mix of speed, included malware removal and a steady price. For agencies that want white-label client access and unlimited sites, SiteGround's GoGeek. For large portfolios with big budgets, Kinsta's agency plans.

Can clients get access to their own site without seeing my account?

Yes, on both WPX and SiteGround. WPX lets you invite collaborators with set roles: technical, full access or accounts only. SiteGround collaborators get their own client area without seeing your billing, and on GoGeek you can give clients white-labelled access.

What does white-label hosting mean?

It means your clients see your agency's branding, not the host's, when they log in to manage their site. SiteGround offers white-label access on GoGeek and its Cloud plans.

Should an agency host client sites at all?

Many do, because it brings in steady monthly income and keeps the agency in control of speed and security. The trade-off is responsibility: when a client's site breaks, they call you. Choose a host with strong support and included malware removal to keep that manageable.

How much does agency WordPress hosting cost?

As of October 2026: WPX Professional is $49.99 a month paid yearly for 15 sites, Elite $99.99 for 35, and the Agency plan $499.99 a month paid yearly for 200 sites. SiteGround GoGeek is £5.99 a month in year one, then £34.99 before VAT. Kinsta's Lead plan, for 20 sites, is $299 a month, or $250 paid yearly.

Move Your Site Without Lifting a Finger

Pick a plan, fill in WPX's move form, and their team copies your site across for you, usually within a day. If it is not right, you have 30 days to get your money back.
