The Best Website Builder for Therapists

Your website is often a client's first, most hesitant step towards getting help. Here is how to build one that makes that step easier — and the privacy question to settle before you collect anything.

We are a web design agency rather than a B12 reseller, so the verdict below is ours — including the parts that are inconvenient for us.

Heads up: B12 is a US platform — dollar pricing, and its invoicing and contract tools are built around US practice. The review below is the same wherever you are reading from, but we point UK readers at the routes that fit better. Nicada Digital has built and supported more than 800 websites since 2014, across small business, ecommerce and agency projects. We judge builders on what they are like to live with, not just to launch.

A therapist's website has a harder job than most. Someone reading it is often anxious, unsure whether therapy is for them, and looking for a reason to trust you enough to make contact. The site has to be warm, clear and calm — and then it has to make booking easy without feeling pushy.

Behind that, a private practice runs on the same admin as any small business: enquiries, appointments, forms, invoices. The right builder handles both halves.

The short answer

Best all-in-one for a private practice: B12 — website, scheduling, intake and invoicing on one platform.

Before you collect clinical information: settle the privacy question first. Details below.

What a Therapy Practice Website Needs

  • Who you help, in plain language. Anxiety, grief, couples, trauma — name it so the right person recognises themselves.
  • Your approach and credentials. Modalities, qualifications and licence or registration details.
  • Fees and practicalities. Session cost, insurance, in person or online, availability.
  • A gentle way to make contact. A short form or a booking slot — not a wall of questions on the first click.
  • Calm design that loads fast on a phone. Most first visits happen on mobile, often late in the evening.

Why B12 Suits Private Practice

B12 is built for professional service businesses, and a therapy practice is a textbook example.

  • It builds the site for you. Describe your practice and B12's AI generates a full draft — about two minutes, by B12's figure. No template to fight with.
  • Scheduling, client intake, invoicing and payments are included on the Client Engagement plan ($78/mo, $67 yearly), along with contracts with eSignature, email marketing and a contact manager.
  • You update it by typing. Change your availability or add a new service by telling its AI agent. Useful when you are fitting admin between sessions.

Trade-offs: design is professional rather than distinctive, you cannot export the site, and B12 issues no refunds — so try it on the free plan or the $1 week first. Full detail in our B12 website builder review.

The Privacy Question to Settle First

Do not assume any website builder is HIPAA compliant.

If you are a US provider collecting protected health information through web forms, you need a vendor that will sign a Business Associate Agreement. We cannot confirm whether B12 does — ask them directly before using its intake forms for anything clinical. In the UK, clinical details are special-category data under UK GDPR and need the same care.

The practical approach most practices use:

  1. Keep website forms non-clinical. Name, contact details, preferred times, how they heard about you.
  2. Handle clinical intake separately in a dedicated, compliant practice management system.
  3. Say so on the form. A line such as "Please don't include clinical details here — we'll send a secure intake form" reassures clients and protects you.

Reading this from outside the US?

B12 is a US platform — the pricing is in dollars and the invoicing and contract tools are built around US practice. Everything above still applies, but if you are in the UK there are two routes that fit better.

Other Options

  • Squarespace — beautiful, calm templates that suit therapy well; scheduling is a paid add-on and intake and invoicing need other tools.
  • Practice-management platforms with a website feature — some clinical systems include a basic public site. Strong on compliance, usually weak on design and search.
  • A designed site — if you want something distinctive that ranks for "therapist in [your town]", see our websites for counsellors and therapists.

How We Assessed This

Based on B12's published features and pricing and our experience building websites for counsellors and therapists. We have not built a client site on B12, so we report what B12 documents. This page is not legal or compliance advice — confirm your obligations with your professional body or a compliance adviser. B12 details verified September 2026.
