Nicada Digital has built and looked after more than 800 websites since 2014, almost all of them on WordPress. Hosting is the part clients never see and always feel.
FastComet and SiteGround are both popular, well-reviewed hosts with London data centres, and they are often compared because their entry prices look similar. The difference shows up in year two, and in what is included.

Price: FastComet Wins
FastComet's Starter plan is $1.99 a month on a one-year term and renews at $9.95. SiteGround's StartUp is $2.99 a month for the first year and renews at $17.99. After year one, FastComet costs about half as much.
One thing to know: FastComet used to advertise fixed renewal prices. That changed; its pricing page now says promotional prices are for the first term only. The renewals are still lower than SiteGround's, but older reviews that say "no price increase" are out of date.
Support: SiteGround Wins
SiteGround's in-house support team answers by phone, chat or ticket at any hour, and its 4.9 Trustpilot score comes from more than 30,000 reviews. FastComet offers 24/7 chat and tickets, also highly rated at 4.7. If you want to phone someone about a technical problem, SiteGround.
Want phone support and staging?
SiteGround GrowBig: unlimited sites, staging, on-demand backups and free AI tools, with in-house support by phone any time. $4.99 a month in year one.

Features: SiteGround Has More
- Backups: SiteGround keeps 30 days on every plan; FastComet keeps 7 on its first three plans.
- Staging and on-demand backups on SiteGround GrowBig, for testing changes safely.
- AI tools: SiteGround includes an AI agent that can update WordPress by chat, and free AI Studio tokens. See our SiteGround AI tools guide.
FastComet's advantage here is security: its scanner can clean infected files automatically, and it lists hacked-site recovery as a feature. SiteGround charges for clean-up.
Speed
Neither took part in the 2026 Review Signal benchmarks, so there is no current independent comparison. Both offer London servers. See the fastest WordPress hosting for hosts that were tested.
Which Should You Choose?
FastComet, if:
- You want the lowest price after year one.
- You run a single small site.
- Automatic malware clean-up matters more to you than phone support.
SiteGround, if:
- You want to phone a person at any hour.
- You want staging, longer backups, unlimited sites and AI tools.
- You prefer a host with tens of thousands of reviews behind its score.
If you choose SiteGround, pick GrowBig. See our SiteGround review and pricing guide. Want a steady price without SiteGround's renewal jump? See WPX vs SiteGround.
